Day 10 of facts produced from different studies that compares a low fat diet vs a low carb diet for you.

Yesterday you looked at how a low carb diet can reduce the frequency of seizures in epileptic children.

Today we look at Zhou W, et al.

Using a calorically restricted low carb diet as an effective alternative therapy for malignant brain cancer. Nutrition and Metabolism, 2007.

Using medical procedures for brain cancer may fail to target tumor cell growth and often have adverse effects on the health and vitality of your normal brain cells.

This study compared a normal low fat diet to a higher-calorie diet and calorie-restricted low carb high fat diet plan in mice with brain cancer.

The calorie restricted low carb high fat diet out preformed the other diets. Two tumors were reduced by 65% and 35% on this diet.

But more importantly, and what you need to be aware of is that there was no change in the high calorie low carb diet group.

There are other studies using both human trials and animal trials showing incredible benefits in fighting cancer, especially if you catch it early.

All this is still being studied. But these early stage studies show it is likely that a low carb diet will eventually be used alongside conventional cancer treatments.

Studies all aside, I think you would want to be proactive and use a low carb diet to help protect yourself from getting cancer and having it spread throughout your body.
